The Huts at Bridge House – Mercury & Mithras – are twin-bed, fully insulated cabins with heating, electricity, en-suite toilet as well as access to a hot shower, garden, honesty shop and the Green Room.

They are great for a weekend getaway, or are perfect as a warm and comfy mid-way stop for walkers who are camping out along the Wall.

We’re pleased to say that from 2026 our huts benefit from upgraded Dreams mattresses to ensure an even better nights’ sleep đź’¤

Our Shepherd’s Huts offer functional and comfortable accommodation whether you’re walking, cycling, sightseeing, or simply looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway. Located in the middle of the Hadrian’s Wall Path, we offer an excellent opportunity for adventurers to enjoy a warm, cosy stopoff where you can have a hot shower, relax in our cosy garden room, and recharge your devices – and yourselves!

Our Huts are designed to be a cost-effective and flexible option; so bedding is available as an additional extra based on your own individual needs. Read on for more information

Each Hut is set up with two single beds, an en-suite composting toilet with hot water basin, and plenty of room for your kit. There are also plugs for charging your devices, and heating to keep you warm and cosy. Guests in The Huts can also enjoy a hot shower in our newly built heated wet room just 10 metres from the cabins.

Bedding, linen and towels are available for a small additional charge, so you can opt in if you need this – however if you’re carrying your own sleeping gear, you can give this a miss.

Just across the garden is The Green Room, a cosy conservatory space equipped with sofas, books and games, plus kettle and free hot drinks, fridge, microwave and toaster. In here is also our Honesty Shop selling a range of essentials and snacks. If you need a load of laundry done, we offer this as an extra.

The Huts are perfectly located in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country, with the Hadrian’s Wall and Pennine Way National Paths only half a mile away via a public footpath, as well as being a 3 minute walk to an excellent traditional pub that offers a wide range of food and local drinks. Furthermore, you can expect easy access to a whole host of local attractions – with Vindolanda, Housesteads, The Sill, Twice Brewed, and the Roman Army museum all located within a 5 mile radius.
